Here's an early test of hacked GH2s on a 3D rig:

The quality of the motion coding in the latest series of patches for the GH2 (especially Driftwood's GOP3 132Mbps patch) is fantastic for 3D - where motion coding fidelity is critically important. I'm pretty sure the GH2 is going to make a good 3D camera.

By the way - this is straight out of the rig without color correction (including the tint from the beamsplitter mirror reflection side).

Looks good. Is there a way to sync both cams together with the hack ? It looks like your cams are capturing frames at the same time, for clean motion.

If the cameras are powered up at exactly the same time with an external power source, sync is remarkably good. My experience has been that there is very little drift over time - even for very long takes. I'm careful to purchase camera pairs with sequential or very close serial numbers, however.

More information about sync for Panasonic DSLR cameras can be found here: GH1 Stereoscopic Rig Project beampath (http://beampath3d.com/home/gh1-stereoscopic-rig-project/)
