So I finished this music video. and the whole project is 691gb. What should I do? Back it all up to mass DVDs? leave it on the Hard drive? buy a blu-ray burner and back up that way? Need input, thank you!

It would take about 15 Blu-Ray discs or 175 DVD's.
Or you could fit it all into one-half of an LTO-5 cart... see Linear Tape-Open - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_Tape-Open)

3TB internal hard drives are around $125 - $200 now. A docking station is around $20 - $50. I suggest buying two and storing the same data on both, one nearby and one at a remote location. Periodically verify the data and swap locations.

I agree with Daniel... external 1TB hard drives can be had for well under $100.00.

What we started doing is insisting that the production company provides us with their own drive and take responsibility for the archiving of their projects, it's their material anyway and they should have the resources to keep it themselves.
I tend to keep things for a reasonable amount of time but I am not prepared to accept any liability for footage as it has no value to me and it is their property.
As said 1tb drives are cheap enough these days.
