How do I combine 2 projects into 1?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Say, I have Project 1, and Project 2. After editing both, I want to combine the footage into a single new project. I found out that I couldn't just Copy the tracks from 2 and Paste it in 1.

Thanks,

Actually you can. Open Vegas TWICE, once for project 1 and once for project 2. Now select the events in project 2, copy, switch to project 1, and paste. Vegas must be open TWICE.

Alternately, start a new project, drag the project 1 VEG file to the timeline, and then drag the project 2 VEG file to the timeline. This will put both files back to back.

If you prefer, you could open project 1 and simply drag the project 2 VEG file to the end of the project 1 timeline.

Edward. Does this advice you have given in reply to putting two projects on same timeline apply to both Vegas Pro and VMS 10 HD platinum. I have the latter programme. Do I have to render both projects before I can put the 2 projects on one timeline. I want to put two completed videos on a a BD-R disc.
Thanks.

You can copy/paste between project in both Vegas Pro and Vegas Movie Studio. Events will copy fine. Track level effects cannot be copied. Vegas Pro supports nested projects. Vegas Movie Studio does not support nesting. In either case, you could also render both out and then create a new project from the two renders.
