Hi,

there seems to be some confusion in terms of what is needed to shoot 1080 60p on a sony f3...and I have some questions on that matter

- which current exisying external recorders support 1080 60p
- what needs to be set in the menus...dual link sdi enabled?
- what formats can be recorded on those external recorders?
- is it possible to record 1080 60p 10bit to aja ki pro mini?
does the blackmagic hyperdeck enable to shoot 1080 60p 10bit?
- is it possible to record 1080 60p over single sdi (A) and not use at all the port B?

yesterday we were testing the dual link from sony f3 to the cinedeck extreme and we could only get 1080 60p in cineform codec...when we tried to record the 1080 60p in pro res we couldn't do it...what's the catch? and what was your experience, what codec and what recorder was used in getting 1080 60p 10bit out from the sony f3?

Thanks for the input

The Sony SR-R1 will do 1080p60 4:2:2. The soon to be released Convergent design Gemini has it as a future planned upgrade.

Alister this is the first I have heard of the Gemini not producing 1080p60 4:2:2 out of the box. Maybe I am misinterpreting your statement.

Dear Andrew,

Our intial Gemini 4:4:4 firmware will not have 1080p60 enabled.

We want the Gemini 4:4:4 to be absolutely flawless.

So, we have decided to withhold a few features, in the initial firmware, to ensure that we can thoroughly test the features that we have exposed. 1080p60 4:2:2 is one of these features.

Additional features will be added just as soon as they are fully tested tested.

1080p60 4:2:2 is definitely in our plans.

I hope this helps.

The Cinedeck only supports 1080p/60 with 8bit Cineform codec. No other codecs are supported for this frame rate.

I have a Cinedeck and an F3 and the 1080p/60 looks very good.

I've been using a Tower to capture 108060P.

Works great. obvously not for non supported outdoor situations, but in the studio its great.
