Can anyone tell me what the best format would be to shoot fast moving ice hockey (lots of awful sodium lights) games?

I also would like to know if anyone has ever used this camera to capture HD (for DVD or BRay burn copies) as well as simultaneously getting an SD copy for streaming to the web or quick delivery of an SD copy? Can you capture both formats to separate cards at the same time?

Also, any thoughts on the best settings for indoor sports would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Scott, Looks like we have lots in common. I don't have the 750 but I do have the 700, I usually shoot sports at 720p60 for sports. I have also recorded on the SDHC card and output through my computer. I believe there is an HDV/SD switch on your camera. How are you planning on streaming the games? (hardware/software)

Scott,

I'm fairly sure you can't record SD and HD at the same time using the on-board SDHC slots on the HM750, (I have the 700u, and SD recording isn't an option there.)

However, if you go with an external recorder, that should do the trick. I believe the 750 will automatically downconvert over FireWire, so a Firestore should be a relatively inexpensive option for you, OR you can set your composite or component outputs to downconvert to SD.

Good luck!
