Good morning,
I have 1-HXP 170 and 1- HXP 300. I shoot a few weddings and some web videos. I like the style of these cameras and I'm used to the P2 system. Can anyone suggest a 3rd camera for me? I'm looking for a camera that is cheaper than the 170 and uses the P2 cards. Any suggestions or am I kinda out of luck?

Thanks!

Hi Art,

The AG-HPX170 is indeed the least expensive P2 HD camcorder you can buy; there's no other camcorder in that format for less money. At NAB this April, Panasonic announced their newest P2 HD camcorder, the AG-HPX250, but it carries a +$6,000 price tag.

Details here: PANASONIC UNVEILS AG-HPX250 P2 HD HANDHELD CAMCORDER (http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prModelDetail?storeId=11301&catalogId=13251&itemId=623002&modelNo=Content03232011020433971&surfModel=Content03232011020433971)

Chris,
Kinda what I thought. I was hoping someone would have a secret inside tip to prove me wrong! Thanks for the link and responding.

A used HVX200A is cheaper than a HPX170. If you really need a 3rd camera, try that.

I concur with Kevin about used. Another HPX-170 shouldn't be hard to pick up that way either. Or you could wait and spend some bigger bucks on the new HPX-250 coming out

Ya, that's a bit out of my range. Nice tho! I'll be in the market for a used 170
Thanks much,
