Ok guys/gals I have a Canon Xha1 that when turned on displays a black screen. It shows the t/c, battery meter, wb indicator, etc. The screen is black on the viewfinder or lcd. I have also tried to playback a tape using external monitor and it also shows black. Any thoughts??

Try a reset, check your manual. HTH
