Does anyone render out of Vegas to a format for playback on an X-Box 360? I don't have gaming consoles so I'm not very familiar with them. A google search of this question didn't get me very far so I thought I would ask the experts here on DVINFO.

I recently did a wedding video for some friends and will be delivering it to them on DVD, but I would also like to provide them with an HD version of the 4 minute highlights video. I know they have a 360, so that would be the most effective way for them to view the video in HD, but I have no idea what format (or render settings) to use for playback on the 360 console.

Standard DVDs play on XBOX. The easiest thing is to make a standard DVD.

But for HD video, I found this link with a list of supported formats.

I haven't tried these. But if you really wanted to test it out beforehand, you might download the Zune program for Windows and see if your video plays there. MS has built Zune and Xbox to share a lot of functionality on audio/video formats.

I've just rendered a couple movies out in wmv format, for the purpose of streaming from the pc to the xbox. The first movie was playing fine ("The Devil's Own)... while the 2nd movie (It's a wonderful life") has been giving me lag problems, I think it may only be when my wife is using the internet.

My render format could be the cause of lag... I chose the 4.8 mbps HD 720 24p profile for wmv's. Perhaps for the next movie, I'll go a little lower in the bit rate.

As stated above, a simple dvd will work on the xbox, as well.

Bear in mind, to stream from the computer, windows media center needs to be set up to work with the xbox.
