Don't know it this is the right forum or not, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with creating QR cards for a client? If so, can you recommend a web service or site? My client wants business information or a video link to be scanned. They want it on a business card. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Lalo,

Not sure if you are looking for a way to generate the QR code or if you want a full business card printer. Here's a link to a website with several sites that generate the QR code.

How To Generate Quick Response Codes and Decode Them | Wonderful Tech. Stuff (http://tech-wonders.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-to-generate-quick-response-codes.html)

I've used the first one on the list:

QR-Code Generator (http://qrcode.kaywa.com/)

to generate the code then I copy the image. From there I incorporate it into the business card design.

Hope that helps,
Garrett

Thanks Garrett, so if you used the generator to put your business and address and phone number how would someone store it on their phone? BTW thanks for the links, the generator was pretty simple.

There are apps for the various phones that can read and store the code. They use your cameras phone as a scanner. Once you read the QR the program can do things like store in their phone or send it to another person. There are also apps that generate inputted information and display the QR on your phones screen. It really depends on what you want the QR to do. Does your client want to use the QR to direct people to his website, give additional information? QR's are opening up a wide range of possibilities on how to quickly give out a more complex set of instructions for your digital device to execute.

I'm pretty sure every AlphaGraphics on the planet can do these.

Might give them a call and see.
