Hi Guys

After my dog passed away, I have volunteered to make a short video for a dog charity as part of his 'legacy'.

For music on the video, I would like to do an 'open call' to local bands and solo musicians, asking them if they could send me a suitable song they have recorded. Hopefully one will be suitable and I'll use it.

I have seen some standard actors release forms online. Is there a standard 'release' form I could present to a band or solo musician which could ensure that:

1. Their song can be used on the video which could be uploaded onto YouTube, the dog charity website, and maybe also used in presentations by the charity

2. They are offering their song for free with no payment due at any point in the future

The tricky part, I am aware that some of the bands or individuals who wish to send a song may be signed and some may not be signed. So, should I perhaps also state that:

3.I will only accept submissions from unsigned artists, to ensure no complications with record companies and distributors?

Any ideas, advice or thoughts whatsoever would be dearly appreciated.

Peter

Just as I thought, a bit too complicated :) Not to worry, have opted for library music instead. Thanks for reading the previous post nonetheless.
