I don't feel the need to switch to large sensor camera's like the F3 and FS100. For shooting wildlife I find the smaller sensors benificial, because of the cropfactor. However, the new large sensor Sony's do have the possibilty to shoot in 1080p at 50 or 60 fps, which I do very much miss on the EX3. Do insiders expect any succesor for the EX1/3 series in near future with this option?

Not a successor to (or replacement for) the EX1R/3, but you might want to take a look at Sony's 'weatherproof' NX70 camera, which is small, convenient, shoots 1080/60p, and is of course weatherproof for those times you get caught in the rain (or have to shoot on a small boat, or in high dust conditions, etc.) It seems small enough to keep in your case as an extra accesory, ready to come out when you need it.

For me it's not a replacement indeed. Though it seems a very nice camera, I need exchangable lenses, at least 1/2" sensor, the option to shoot 4:2:2 and at least 50Mb/s on an external device etc. Since new camer's, even 'lower' models, have 50/60p now, I hope that a successor for the EX3 will arrive in near future.

Remember, the XDcam codec does not currently have the ability to record 1080p 50/60. Sony just added the 28Mbps 60p codec for the NX70 (and their new, small 3D cameras). The F3, though it can output 1080p/60, cannot record to that format internally. Most of the current small (relatively inexpensive) external recorders also cannot handle the data rate required for 1080P60.
I personally hope the XDcam recording standard gets ammended to include 1080p60 onto SxS cards, but have a feeling that it would take a fairly radical redesign of the EX1/3 to handle it. (And I'm also hoping that if the EX1r is redesigned it will add a time code jam-sync option.) We can all dream!

I realize there are other issues to solve. I now use the nanoflash, which doesn't allow me to shoot 1080p60 either, even if the EX3 could. However, the Gemini is there now and it can (though uncompressed is not my thing) and I suppose that a successor of the nano or devices of other brands will move towards 60p as well. Now that even consumer model cameras can do 60p, it can't be that a 'professional' setup like a EX3 with nano can not. It will change, I suppose.

Gemini. $6000 for the Gemini. $3000 worth of media for every hour of recording. I don't get the attraction.

Buy a £900 Panasonic TM900 or similar (or the Sony 1080p50/60 capable models) and use as a supplementary camera to the EX when you want great full 1080p slow-motion. That's what I do with my EX3. Much more cost effective!

Cinedeck will record dual stream HD-SDI. Retail is between 10 and 12 grand. You can install whatever codec you wish on it. Cineform would be a good codec to use for broadcast capture but you would probably (almost certainly) have to transcode it to something else for delivery and there will be Sony's SR-R1 that will be released shortly. It will output to a high end variant of XDCAM or a variant of HDCAM-SR. I don't think it outputs at quite the bitrate of an F35 but relatively close to it. In any event it will far exceed the requirements of pretty much everyone here.
