I want this canon vixia hf m31 camera to serve as a feed into a teleprompter. I'm looking at prompters that use VGA monitors. Can I successfully hook up this camera to such a monitor? What do I need to buy to do that? Must I get a converter box? I want to keep things simple and dont want additional hardware to connect them.

If the monitor has a DVI input you can get a HDMI to DVI cable.

If it is only VGA then a converter box is in your future to use the monitor with the camera.

Are there camcorders that have an output that I could connect with just a simple cable to a VGA? IM trying to not to need more hardware....

None. Signals are too different between VGA and Composite/S-Video. And with component video its missing all the sync signals for VGA. Also the clock frequencies from the camera is half what the monitor wants.

Do they make converters that I can use multiple devices in i.e. connect two different camcorders to two different monitors? I didn't see anything like this but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist....
