Hello Robin,

The Scan Function of Klix is to search the Card for MXF, MOV or MPG files that may still be there. or may be recovered from the card.

Likewise the Test Function is obviously to test the card, This can be set under the Preferences menu, you can select Sequential or Random.

A Sequential test will write to the card Sequential and then read back the data that is written to ensure that it matches, Likewise the Random version uses an advanced algorithm to jump around the card but ensure the hole card is cover as it is in the sequential test.

These two methods have proven to be very effective in our internal testing.

Hope that Helps

Hello Robin,

I would suggest testing a Compact Flash Card using both methods since depending on what Issues the card may have it may fail in one test but not in another, even thou we have seen cards that fail with both methods it depends greatly on what the issue is with the card. if it involves the cards controller the random may be a better test.

As for the speed settings are you referring to the number of passes? Which is how many times it will go over the card, not the rate in which it checks the card, I would set this to at least 2, but most card are identified in the first pass.

Hope that Helps
