I own a VP88, ill use it for several pourposes, orchestras, acoustic bands, field recording, it is ok, now I want to test on same tasks the combo mkh40/30, what is your opinion, does it worthto buy the 30 compared to vp 88?

The MKH 30/40 would be very much better than the VP88.
The VP88 is about half the price of the MKH 40 - so you are comparing a mic. to a combination about four times more expensive.
The MKH 30/40 is superb and is, IMHO, probably the best MS set-up on the market.
I have had my set for about 25 years (bought when the MKH 30 and 40 were very new to the market) and it has given me excellent service over the years - in fact it's so good I actually have TWO MKH 30/40 sets.
