When I bring a Cineform file into AE CS5.5 and export it with or without effects to Cineform it adds about 7 IRE to the blacks. I have color management turned off in AE. Any ideas?
Thanks, Marc
UPDATE:
I've done some further testing and there appears to be a bug when using Vegas rendered Cineform files in AE CS5.5.
1. Bring a Cineform file into Sony Vegas 10 add some kind of effect so Vegas has to recompress the video and export it as Cineform.
2. Bring the clip into AE CS5.5 and export it out as a Cineform file with or without effects applied. Now bring the clip back into Vegas or Premiere and you will see that the black level has jumped 7 IRE and whites are clipped at 100IRE.
3. If you smart render a Cineform file from Vegas (no effects applied) or use a file straight from HDLink AE will not exhibit the black level jump but will still clip the whites at 100IRE.
I will be filing a ticket with Cineform.
Thanks, Marc
