Hi,
Does anyone here have experience with converting a AES3 signal to a SPDIF?
Specifically, I own a PMD661 and wanna use it with a SOund devices Mixpre D which outputs a digital signal via AES 3. The MArantz PMD661 only has a RCA SPDIF input.
Can the PMD661 accept a AES3 signal over its SPDIF digital in given the appropriate converter cable?
I know the AES3 and SPDIF signal are identical, apart from some bits in the header, and many devices can take in either, but then again, some devices are not 'tolerant' and I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on that?
Thanx
