I need to purchase a good External DVD Writer to put my TM700 videos on.....BluRay is possible...

Can someone point me towards a good one....I need it to be independent of a computer....I want to be able to directly download from camcorder to DVD...

Thanks in advance for any and all help...Don

I am also in the process of buying one (blueray as well) and I am considering this one:

Buffalo Technology - Products - BR-X816U2 : External 8x Blu-rayŽ Drive (http://www.buffalo-technology.com/products/external-drives/optical-storage/br-x816u2-external-8x-blu-ray-drive/)

here is a review:

Don

I have a Canon DW-100 burner that I use to back up my Canon HF10. It will burn Blu Ray compatible discs on standard DVDs but as you can guess, playback time is limited.

Recently saw an brief mention of Sony's latest latest offering and B&H has it here
Sony DVDirect MA1 Multi-Function Blu-ray Disc/DVD VBD-MA1 B&H

Just have to see if it is compatible with your camera. BTW, I have been archiving the footage from my Canon to Archival quality DVDs and then importing the footage later on to use in iMovie.

Happy hunting!

I just found that the Sony DVDirect MA1 unfortunately is for NTSC region only. Does anybody know a similar product to work in PAL region?
