Probably a long shot, but does anyone have any experience with Hobby Motors?

I'm making a prop Ghostbusters Ghost Trap, and I ordered one to make the doors go up with the flick of a switch. Unfortunately, it didn't come with assembly instructions..

anyone have any experience with these things? I've got the wiring all figured out, just not the motor assembly!

The picture you have posted is of a servo... what question do you have...

That would explain why research came up with nothing....

are those extra arms part of the assembly, or just something you can attach if you don't like the circle it came with? Also I Was told I need a linkage to attach to it that would either attach to the bottom of the doors, or just prop the doors open when the wheel turned... Though I know nothing about it :). This is my first exposure to servo's ;)

It looks like a standard HiTech servo. These servos come in a package together with a choice of several servo arms. To operate the servo you need a receiver to plug in the lead, a battery [4.8v], a transmitter [with the switches] to operate the servo. Suggest you visit a store that sells model airplanes. They will be able to sell you a 3 channel transmitter, the battery and the receiver. Or, you can go on line to e.g. Tower Hobbies - Best Source for Radio Control ( R/C or RC ) Cars, Trucks, Airplanes, Boats and Helicopters (http://www.TowerHobbies.com) and find all you need.
