JUST spoke with an unnamed individual (whom I know and trust) at my local pro shop. My beef with possibly migrating to Media Composer from FCP was that AVID doesn't "play nice" with 3rd party I/O manufacturers like Matrox...

APPARENTLY this is going to change this fall! According to RUMOUR, that is...
Word is that Version 6 (64 bit and due this fall) will support full I/O from Matrox devices. On Mac AND PC. Initially the MAXX technology may not be supported.
I may finally have a crossgrade path!

EDIT: Before anyone says anything, I know AVID will OUTPUT using an MXO2mini but not input. This is supposed to be support across the entire MXO2 line... Rumour has it...
