Has anyone experimented with the GPS embedded information on this camera?

Bill,

I haven't had the chance to play with it too much, but I have tried it in the Sony Content Management software. You can click on your video clip, then an option to view the location - and up pops Google Maps at the correct point.

Not much use yet, as I can remember everywhere I've been, but it may be useful.

Could try Victor's meta data reader.

Most useful feature for me is that it sets the camera clock. Not much use if you stay in one place but really useful in North America if you are crossing time zones a lot.

Dumb ? On the gps can you view your location in the camera from a previous video and will it let you track back to the shooting location. Or is there just longitude/ latitude info in the meta data and you need your own gps to track back to where you took the video. Thanks
