I'm looking for a traditional(non-DSLR) camera to compliment my Canon 5D. I have a budget of around $2,500. Will be used for Doc's, short movie's, etc. Any suggestions?

Canon XHA1 has been a great compliment to our DSLRs we have found. We also are selling one as a matter of fact.

I've been shooting a lot of "B" footage for the last 8 months or so with a Sony Nex 5 and have been delighted with it. Even with the 18-200mm E-Mount it's well under your price point, however I use mine primarily with my Nikon lenses via an adaptor

Good Morning,

There is no comparison between the above two cameras!!! You can get a used xlh1 within budget, the quality and image control is leap years ahead!!

It really depends on what you want!! Personally I go for image control, if that is not as important the one Wayne mentions is just fine for a b camera. If I wanted a digital camera I would go Panasonic at this point, they have great color and a 4/3 sensor and shoots 1080 and also 1280 at 60P. Just some thoughts.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 Digital Micro Four Thirds DMC-GF2KS B&H

Of course there are many choices out there.

Drop me a line Wayne!!

I got a Panasonic Lumix GH2 (Micro 4/3rds) and I'm liking it so far.

Update: Thanks for the advice everyone. It was a tough choice but I went with the Canon XF100.
