My camera (Canon XHA1) shoots 1440x1080. If I shot my footage 60i, edit on the time line with 60i but export 1280 x720P (HD) will my final product be deinterlaced or is there more to deinterlacing 60i footage?

Ervin Farkas June 7th, 2011, 06:26 PM It depends on your editing software. Theoretically yes, but in practice most NLEs do a poor job resizing and deinterlacing, so you might be better off going even with a free program like MPEG Streamclip or VirtualDub. Paul Elertson June 10th, 2011, 10:13 AM If I was home i could do a quick test to tell you. I shot 60i with my XH-A1, and exported to the same setting you described with adobe premiere CS3. If I didn't have de-interlaced checked in my export options it would it would look interlaced in the preview window. So I just exported it with deitnerlacing. Now I've been shooting in 30p instead. |
