EX3 is a great camera with of course a cheap plastic body.I handle it just like a newborn baby. One day when I open the petrol bag was shocked to see the broken microphone mount.I don't know how to get the replacement. During last three shoots I am finding two or three glitches in a two hrs long shoot. This kind of glitches we used to see in the cassette based camcorders when the head was dirty. We know there is no such head in EX3.I hope it is not dead pixel as my camera is not even two years old. Please someone advise what to do.

Well, you can get the microphone mount from Sony. It's about $60, and it's very common for them to break. They're designed to break before something more important does.
Regarding the glitches: If your camera bag took a hard enough hit to break the mic mount while the camera was in it, it may have suffered some other damage you can't see. I'd suggest getting the camera into the shop.

I agree with Charles. Hardly ever hear of this type of problem because nothing moves in this camera except the lens and the viewfinder. If you are getting video hits and glitches and you are using genuine SxS cards, you either have a loose wire, cracked circuit board or some other type of physical issue and chances are it happened in transport. Time to send it in to Sony

Not sure why you would take the chance of ruining a project if your camera indeed has a defect.
Can you show us a screen shot of one of the glitches?
