So, on suggestions by some folk here on the forum I picked up the 50mm 1.8 lens for the T2i. These are two test videos with the lens and a Manfrotto monopod.
Initial thoughts:
*The lens, indeed, works wonders outside. In some instances (see the STORAGE SIGN) I was under no street light and was in a 1130pm darkness and it still picked up nice images.
*Shooting off reflective surfaces like mirrors and windows worked well, too. I liked getting shots of the street in the window
*It's light so was easy to just cart around comando style without detaching from the monopod
*My monopod work is still very unsteady so I have some practicing to do there. At the moment, I am not as keen on that $300 monopod purchase and think a lightweight tripod might be better suited
I started playing with speeds and white-balance for the first time, as well.
Anyway, here are two test vids. Thoughts? Tips?
