Lately when I render a project the Estimated Render Times are wrong. As an example: it will give a estimated render time 44 minutes. When the little slider reaches half way or at 22 minutes, it shuts down. Render complete. The rendered files look great. It's like the internal clock that estimates render times is wrong.
Any idea's?

generally,
vegas doesn't actually know what it's rendering till it's rendering (;-)), so if your opening sequence of your 2min video is heavy with fx it'll time it according to the time taken to render the project based on that. however, if after 15secs your back to normal, it will render much quicker.... the time left is dependent on what it's actually rendering

Yes, and I find that the estimated time changes fairly regularly as my render progresses and Vegas tries to extrapolate or estimate the remaining render time.

You're saying it stops rendering at 50% but it's done???

Yes, it says it's done. It looks and behaviors like it is done anyway. This strange behavior started two days ago. Never seen it before. No changes in computer or software have been made.
I just rendered a project in Virtualdub, No problems. About 70 minutes
Then rendered the same in Vegas. "Projected" render time was 1:40 minutes. The project stopped rendering at 50%. or at 70 minutes. Looks and plays the same as the render from Virtualdub.
I have tried AVI, Mpeg 2 and 4. Same problem.

It renders fine. It's just a little spooky to watch the approximate render dialog box giving the false approximate render times.
