That's a very big topic indeed.
If you search Adobe TV and Adobe Premiere Pro online tutorials you will find some info.
For a real education you should look at Alexis van Hurkman's recent book on the subject.
It is very well written- you can use it as a reference, but he makes the subject so accessable that you can read it like a novel.
