Okay.
This may seem a little weird (because it is), but try to keep up :
I've got the 3-port VIA OHCI IEEE1394 PCI Controller Card. The ports will be later mentioned as "left one", "middle one", and "right one".
The thing is - I had my camcorder plugged in the left port, and it captured fine (3 dropped frames while capturing 600 frame footage - that's IMO too much anyway) under Windows XP. Switched to Windows 98, 0 dropped frames.
Plugged the thingy into the middle port, ~150 dropped frames while capturing 600 frame footage under Windows XP. Switched to Windows 98, 0 dropped frames.
Plugged the thingy into the right port, ~400 dropped frames while capturing 600 frame footage under Windows XP. Switched to Windows 98, 0 dropped frames.
I know that this may be a stupid issue, but it really bothers me when I want to edit my video in all the editing programs...A/V out of sync, scenes missing and such...
The footage was captured from the same tape.
My computer config is AMD Athlon XP 1700+ with 256MB of DDR-SDRAM (@266MHz), the capturing-harddrive (Maxtor 6Y160P0) is 7200RPM and proofed transfer (used HDTach) about 42MB/s.
I'm capturing in WinDV.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
