I usually video from the pressbox for the high school football games, but looking through the forums I have noticed that some people video from other places. So my question/poll is: Where have you videoed from, during a football game? Stands, ontop of pressbox, sidelines, where?

Granted I haven't filmed any football games but I'd assume if you were to shoot from the sidelines you'd need more than one camera to get all of the action. For a single camera shoot the stands or in the pressbox would be the best vantage point.

I used to do a lot of football shooting. Press box, side line and one year, an end zone camera.
If you are just using one camera, the press box is the only place to be. You have to show all the action and not just the ball carrier. On the sidelines, you're looking to follow the ball. Its great to have both and be able to cut from one to the other, especially the sideline shot in slow motion.
I did a lot of college, some high school and a couple of junior high/middle school. In college and high school you can keep up with the ball just by following the flow of the action. In junior high, forget it, they run in 22 different directions!
