Hi,
I am Venkat from India. I am currently developing an E-Cinema server.
I am considering to use cineform as the playback format as I am extremely satisfied with the quality.
I have worked a lot on Look Up tables and on the way to build a custom mastering tool which accept DPX/TIFF files and apply a look up table and encode video in the desired format.

I am also looking for collaborators who can work with me on implementing HDCP

Thanks
Venkat

Hi, Venkat,

always good to see another member from India (my favourite country), grossly under represented here on DVinfo.

Can't help you with your aspirations, as it's a bit (a bit? Huh!) out of my area of expertise, but I'm sure someone will appear out of the woodwork.

Enjoy the site and I really hope you can hook up with a suitable collaborator, sounds like a fascinating project.

Go for it, my friend.

Venkat...what is the point of using Cineform, if the delivery is ultimately TIFF/DPX? It takes up too much space and you'll probably have to pay licensing fees which will bite you in the future. DCI uses JPEGs, which is good enough.

If you are in for the long run, I suggest you patent your own image sequence playback platform. Otherwise you will forever rely on third-party for support.

Or, you might go a different route and try MPEG-4 (like UFO) or MPEG-2 (like Interworld Digital).

Hope this helps.
