I have a DVD I need to reproduce while adding in a title or 2.
What is the best way to rip?
Is it possible to extract the original MPEG2 file from the DVD?
Any ripping software Ive tried seems to only want to convert to another file format.
Thanks,
Ger

Or use VOBrator.

However, be aware, that after editing you will have to reencode the whole thing back to mpeg-2, effectively adding a new layer of compression and loosing quality. There is no workaround if you don't have access to master files.

Thanks for that Bart.
I just made changes to and re-encoded the area i needed to. used the original mpeg2 for every other part of the dvd. use tmpgenc to stitch/splice (whatever term fits here!). happy with result.

Cool! I didn't know you could do that. Thanks for the tip.
