We are forecasted to get a spring snow here in Colorado tomorrow and I was planning to take some footage with the GH2.

Any advice as to which shutter speed might produce the best looking shots. I keep the GH2 on a shutter speed of 1/50 for most situations. But I'd like to try some different speeds to see if I can achieve a more "magical" type appearance. I know that's subjective but I would be curious to hear what settings others would use.

Here's some snow I shot in my neighborhood awhile back with my GH2. Big, wet snowflakes. Just standard 1080/24p...shutter at 50. The closeups are using the GH2 built in extender.

It depends on the effect you are after, but I personally would run at a high shutter speed, as high as you can. This would allow for amazing slow motion. I would run no SS no slower than 100, at least for one clip. Run several clips at different speeds, say something when you do so you know which clip is which. For magical snow, slow motion is priceless.
