The Mac version of the PC update - same basic codec improvements. Also some Macintosh specific fixes.

FirstLight has had its project reading logic changed to reduce the memory used when creating thumbnails. This would cause an out of memory error for large projects (500+ clips).
Fixed a bug introduced in the last week in FirstLight which would not allow you to transcode Panasonic AG-3DA1 files correctly.
Fixed an error where the metadata for a clip could be truncated accidentally. This would show up in FirstLight as corrections/keyframes or second eye fixes vanishing.
Fixed the single eye color correction in FirstLight. You can now apply white balance correction to a single eye without applying an overall correction.

Codec changes specific to the Mac:
Changed the interaction with QuickTime so now both FCP and AE seem to be happy with us. They will both use their appropriate deep pixel formats when rendering. This has been tested with FCP 7 and Premier as well as QuickTime. Please report any issues you may see with these changes in other applications.
Fixed the 601/709 color setting when transcoding from Canon source files in ReMaster.

Other minor fixes as well.

To use the deep pixel formats in AE with this beta, you will need to add the following lines to the MediaCoreQTCodecRulesCS5.xml file. This file is found in: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common ( the Library folder in your user folder - not the one at the root).

<QTCodec codec='CFHD' vendor='****' platform='mactel' direction='encode' versionlow='0x00000' versionhigh='*' gammatag='false' cvbuffertag='0' deepdecodefourcc='b64a' decodefourcc='2vuy' />
<QTCodec codec='CFHD' vendor='****' platform='mactel' direction='decode' versionlow='0x00000' versionhigh='*' gammatag='false' cvbuffertag='0' deepdecodefourcc='b64a' decodefourcc='2vuy' />
<QTCodec codec='CFHD' vendor='****' platform='windows' direction='encode' versionlow='0x00000' versionhigh='*' gammatag='false' cvbuffertag='0' deepdecodefourcc='b64a' decodefourcc='2vuy' />
<QTCodec codec='CFHD' vendor='****' platform='windows' direction='decode' versionlow='0x00000' versionhigh='*' gammatag='false' cvbuffertag='0' deepdecodefourcc='b64a' decodefourcc='2vuy' />

New beta's for the weekend. There were some odd mis-matches in the libraries in the last build, especially when it was installed over the 1.0.0 build of the GoPro CineForm Studio application. The new builds are:

It's not possible to apply different settings to different videos in the list in Remaster. It resets the settings of the others in the list.

This version only works for 4444 encoded files.

Choosing 444 only will still yield visually inferior results.

This only apply to encoding via the Adobe Creative Suite.

Remaster handles this just fine.

When you close the Remaster window there is no way to bring it back up without quitting the program and restarting it.

Still no overlays in First Light

What OS are you running? Overlays require 10.6.x.

I'm running the latest 10.6.XX of OSX.

Maybe this is related to my issue with PPro crashing when I try to make cineform sequences. I am in communication with Jake at support. He says that the crash log shows that the OpenGL player is at fault.

When it's in side by side viewing, all thumbnails in FCP are in grey pixelated image. Why is that so?

That was a problem with the smallest resolution decode of side-by-side. The latest build fixes that issue.

Did you try it with a new project? FCP will create thumbnail cache images the first time, and will never refresh them.

I deleted the thumnail cache files, and reopened the project. When the thumbnails load, they are still in grey pixelated image.
