Hi all,
I posted a few test vids over on youtube and am not sure about the quality. I am wondering if you folks could post a detiled list of what you find to be the best render settings for:

1) Youtube / Vimeo
2) DVD
3) Archieve on your hard-drive

Thanks.

PS: here are the mentioned vids: YouTube - Fantasmagraphics's Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/Fantasmagraphics)

I use an EX3 always in progressive modes and my Vegas render settings are:

1.- You Tube.- HD Internet 16 x 9 sony AVC template. Very fast and very good quality in the end.
2.- DVD.- mpeg2 DVD architect widescreen NTSC template, just make sure use of BEST quality settings and Progressive in the final custom settings....
3.- for archive just keep the original BPAV folders in some secure HDD, server, etc. included with the vegas project (and complementary) files.

my 2 cents..

Yeah, I think where I am faultering is on the smaller settings like "Progressive scan" or "two pass" perhaps.

I have seen some videos on Youtube that seem super sharp...trying to get that quality.

Personally I shoot and edit everything in 1080/24p, same with any animations. For YouTube I let Vegas export as MP4 (still in 1080/24p) and upload that.

For archiving, I save the originals and the Vegas project file.
