I can't make it possible to get output (scaled down) from the composite port during HD recording.
In the field I use the CanTrans transmitter for the directors monitor. Somebody know if this will be working with the coming update. Or am I doing something wrong?
On the EX3 it is possible and I didn't even think Sony would let this out on the 'big brother'

On the F3 you can only get HD-Y from the composite output when shooting with an HD format. That's the way is is meant to be, so I doubt you'll see it changed in a future upgrade . . . but you never know for sure.

HD-Y ?
or do you mean SD-Y when shooting SD?

No, I meant what I said. It's an HD-Y signal when shooting in HD and a normal composite video output when shooting in SD.

Video out works when shooting SD HD SDI. Why I do not know.

Dennis can you clarify "Video out works when shooting SD HD SDI." Somehow I am not clear what you mean.

Sorry, I meant video out composite works only when the camera is set to SD SDI out

I knew that, but it's a pitty this doesn't work with realtime downconversion like on the EX3.
For now I'm bounded to my IDX camwave and have like 30% range tops of what a CanaTrans could do.
