Does anyone know how to get color bars on the Gh2 to calibrate an external monitor like the SmallHD?
It's easy on the Canon DSLRs to put a graphic of color bars on the card and simply play it on the camera as a still image.
But this doesn't work on the GH2 unless I'm doing something wrong?

JUST a guess here, but could you save a PNG or similar, load that onto your SD card and use that?
It's not calibrated directly to the camera, but you'd get a representation of what the camera is spitting out.
I haven't tried it... just a thought.

Maybe I am misunderstanding you here but can't you just frame up a color bar chart and then sent it through your HDMI out to a monitor and set it that way.

I figured it out....
you have to save the color bars graphic as a "low res" JPEG in photoshop and save it as 1920 x 1080, which is the lowest possible photo size in the GH2.
Jim... shooting a color bar chart won't work because you'll never have accurate colors or exposure depending on the lighting in the room, and how the camera is white balanced, etc. Way too many variables.
