HI all,
i have the JVC GYHD 101E for years and still unable to capture live thru firewire
but when i play a round today with Mac OS 10.6.6 and quicktime 10
it suddenly pops up with live feed and i can capture it
but it says unable to view. but if before i click OK
i copy it, it's a file but still lack of any software to open it
it;s white in all versions of quicktime and VLC cant open it too

i wonder if anyone know how to capture thru firwire live

BTW, the usual tape capture seems not work after that???
i mean at VTR mode.

I'm not a mac user but do you have FCP? If your quicktime can read your firewire port and detect your camera, then it's not a hardware issue.
