GoProŽ, Leading Activity Image Capture Company, Acquires Award Winning Video Compression Software Company, CineFormŽ, Inc (http://gopro.com/gopro%C2%AE-leading-activity-image-capture-company-acquires-award-winning-video-compression-software-company-cineform%C2%AE-inc/)

Go-Pro Cameras has just bought Cineform!
I thought it was a joke at first but seems legit. I was just placing an order for 2 GoPros and saw that in their news section.
Will this mean we may see some sort of highly compressed Cineform codec in the near future?
Might just be a business move, but you would have to imagine the Gopro people would have an agenda to further their own products.
exciting

Think they got Cineform for the 3D bit.

However, looks good for future GoPro products.

"GoPro declined to disclose the price, but said the amount was substantial, much more than $100,000."

More than $100,000? I should hope so.

They're here with me in Encinitas ("GoPro's sports marketing division is now in Encinitas.") and Cineform is just down the road, so I read it this morning in the local paper:
