For those of you who have noticed that the headphone levels of the XL1 is too low, check out the "Headbanger Stereo Headphone Amp" from soundprofsessionals.com.

I just picked one up and it works quite nicely. Small box, lightweight. Runs off a single 9v battery. Has a short 1/8" stereo plug on one end and a stereo jack on the other.

Easily mounted with velcro.

Fidelity is good. And the level increase it provides is more than adequate. In fact it can crank it up to the point where you can lose your hearing!

Thanks for the tip, Dean -- appears to be about $100 to $150.

Radio Shack has a small in-line amp for about $20.

I've been using it for a couple weeks now and it seems to do the job.
