Josh Chesarek May 14th, 2008, 02:28 PM "Yknow something, You're gonna look awfully silly trying to eat corn on the cobb...with no F****n teeth!!" That is incorrect... was that a guess or you trying to start a new game without winning? :-p Jonathan Lee May 14th, 2008, 05:10 PM That is incorrect... was that a guess or you trying to start a new game without winning? :-p Oops, sorry, misunderstood the rules. Josh Chesarek May 14th, 2008, 06:08 PM Oops, sorry, misunderstood the rules. No worries, check out This Post (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showpost.php?p=345856&postcount=1) for the rules and give it a shot. Basically try to guess the current quote and if you get it correct, you get to give a quote :) Josh Chesarek May 15th, 2008, 04:37 AM Ok, I am headed out for a road trip now and wont be back till sunday so here is my last hint. As I said before the movie has Bruce Willis in it. The actual line is said by Andie MacDowell in this 1991 film. HH will confirm your guess, if not Kent or someone take over! Good luck! Kelly Goden May 20th, 2008, 09:10 AM Hudson Hawk? Wait it must be. Ok well unless there is another HH movie with Bruce Willis in 91, here's a new one: "Three men's gonna cost you a grand. I know that's not chicken feed but you dont want to go with less than three. its better to over do it." Josh Chesarek May 20th, 2008, 10:08 AM Hudson Hawk? Wait it must be. Ok well unless there is another HH movie with Bruce Willis in 91, here's a new one: "Three men's gonna cost you a grand. I know that's not chicken feed but you dont want to go with less than three. its better to over do it." Yep Hudson Hawk. Was watching it on Netflix when I came up with the quote. Kelly Goden May 20th, 2008, 10:51 AM I've never seen it but I remember it as a big budget flop. I will throw in this extra quote from the movie I mentioned as its one of my favorites from it: "I'm better than you all! I can out learn you. I can out read you. I can out think you, and I can out philosophize you. And I am going to out last you. I am like God and God like me. I am as large as God, he is as small as I. He can not above me nor I beneath him be! Silesius. 17th Century." Jonathan Jones May 20th, 2008, 04:12 PM I will throw in this extra quote from the movie I mentioned as its one of my favorites from it: "I'm better than you all! I can out learn you. I can out read you. I can out think you, and I can out philosophize you. And I am going to out last you. I am like God and God like me. I am as large as God, he is as small as I. He can not above me nor I beneath him be! Silesius. 17th Century." I don't even have to give this one a second thought. A very creepy performance by DeNiro in "Cape Fear" the remake. BTW: Your first posted quote referenced the scene in which Joe Don Baker was trying to hire someone to rough DeNiro up - which was attempted in a parking lot at night while Nick Nolte hid behind a dumpster. BTW-2 : I liked the clever way in which they cast Mitchum in a supporting role as an homage to his performance in the original "Cape Fear" This movie was filled with a lot of creepiness. -Jon Jonathan Jones May 20th, 2008, 04:16 PM Yep Hudson Hawk. Was watching it on Netflix when I came up with the quote. Oh dear me.... that would imply that you actually chose to watch it, selected it out of a vast lineup of titles, and paid for the honor of being the latest victim to this most embarrassing assault on the quality and integrity of comedic action films. My condolences. (Okay, that was probably a bit harsh - there is a small army of HH fans out there who loved this film and its quirky sense of humor. Personally, I hated it.) -Jon Kelly Goden May 20th, 2008, 06:53 PM BTW-2 : I liked the clever way in which they cast Mitchum in a supporting role as an homage to his performance in the original "Cape Fear" This movie was filled with a lot of creepiness. -Jon **yes it was a nice twist how they had Mitchum helping Nolte and Peck helping De Niro. It's all yours. Josh Chesarek May 20th, 2008, 09:32 PM Yeah I know the movie got panned but for some reason it gives me a chuckle while Im waiting for things to render and what not :) Oh dear me.... that would imply that you actually chose to watch it, selected it out of a vast lineup of titles, and paid for the honor of being the latest victim to this most embarrassing assault on the quality and integrity of comedic action films. My condolences. (Okay, that was probably a bit harsh - there is a small army of HH fans out there who loved this film and its quirky sense of humor. Personally, I hated it.) -Jon Jonathan Jones May 21st, 2008, 12:04 AM **yes it was a nice twist how they had Mitchum helping Nolte and Peck helping De Niro. It's all yours. Oh yeah, that's right. I completely forgot that Peck was in the remake also. I'll have a new quote posted in the morning. -Jon Jonathan Jones May 21st, 2008, 04:06 PM Character 1: "Go BACK to BED..... NOW..... or you'll have ME to deal with." Character 2: "Ahh, blow it out yer ol' wazoo." -Jon Jonathan Jones May 22nd, 2008, 12:15 AM Character 1: "Go BACK to BED..... NOW..... or you'll have ME to deal with." Character 2: "Ahh, blow it out yer ol' wazoo." -Jon I wonder how long it will take to guess this one. I realize, of course, that I have presented a dilemma: I suppose someone could either: a.) cheat by Googling the quote (in which case, shame on you) or b.) guess it from memory, and thereby admitting that you have the dialogue from this "charming and timeless classic" memorized by heart (in which case.....I just don't know what to say, tough guy.) -Jon Casey Krugman May 22nd, 2008, 10:02 AM Christmas story? Stretch i know... but what the hay Josh Chesarek May 22nd, 2008, 11:08 AM Christmas story? Stretch i know... but what the hay That movie rocks but I don't remember that line. Jonathan Jones May 22nd, 2008, 01:46 PM Christmas story? Stretch i know... but what the hay That's a great movie - but an incorrect guess. Sorry. When I put the quotes around "charming and timeless classic", I was being a little facetious from my personal perspective - although there are many folks who would consider the movie I posted a timeless classic, and many others who would not. I will probably post another clue/quote later this evening, if needed. -Jon Jonathan Jones May 23rd, 2008, 05:50 PM Doggone it. Now look at what y'all gone and made me do. I had to watch it again to find another quote that is at least somewhat of a challenge: Different scene, different character. "Hold it, sister. Are you peddlin' beauty products? Cuz I don't need no beauty products. If that's what your doing you can just peddle yourself right on outta here, sweetie." -Jon Lorinda Norton May 23rd, 2008, 11:12 PM Jon, I’ve decided you are the ONLY person on DV Info who has seen this movie—or will own up to it—so more quotes might not help at this point. Give us some trivia, big guy! :) Jonathan Jones May 23rd, 2008, 11:30 PM Jon, I’ve decided you are the ONLY person on DV Info who has seen this movie—or will own up to it—so more quotes might not help at this point. Give us some trivia, big guy! :) Okay, but let it be known from this day forward that y'all cried "uncle". lol Since I'm going to be out most of the weekend, so I'm going to give you three clues in the hopes that the conch gets handed over before I retire for the night; 1.) I have seen this movie many times because it is one of my daughter's favorites. She has watched it with regularity for over 2 years. My daughter is now 5 years old, and like the central character of the movie, she also has red hair. 2.) Unlike the long-running print versions that inspired this movie, the cinematic versions of the characters were given eyeballs. 3.) It is a musical. While it is true that I specifically chose scenes and quotes that are hard to search and do not overtly define the context of the movie in question, if no one can guess correctly by now, my next clue will be the answer. -Jon Lorinda Norton May 24th, 2008, 01:33 AM *cue music* "The sun'll come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun!" (I'm assuming they included that song in the movie.) Annie Jonathan Jones May 24th, 2008, 07:40 AM *cue music* "The sun'll come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be sun!" (I'm assuming they included that song in the movie.) Annie Indeed, "Annie" it is. And it is your turn at bat. -Jon Lorinda Norton May 24th, 2008, 12:09 PM Have a great Memorial Day weekend, Jon. :) In honor of veterans...here's a quote from one of my favorite movies of all time: Now, an army is a team - it lives, eats, sleeps, fights as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of crap. Mike Teutsch May 24th, 2008, 02:13 PM My dear Lorinda, Sounds like "Patton" to me. I know you join me in saluting our troops on the Memorial Day weekend! Mike Lorinda Norton May 24th, 2008, 02:16 PM Yes, I do, and yes, you're right about the quote/movie. Take it, Mike! :) Mike Teutsch May 24th, 2008, 02:23 PM Thank you and staying in the same vein; "Wait a minute. You aren't seriously suggesting that if I get through the wire... and case everything out there... and don't get picked up... to turn myself in and get thrown back in the cooler for a couple of months so you can get the information you need?" Mike Hugh DiMauro May 24th, 2008, 02:55 PM My Gosh! The "Cooler King" himself! Steve McQueen as Virgil Hilts in "The Great Escape!" Mike Teutsch May 24th, 2008, 03:54 PM Over the fence and a perfect landing! Great job, batter up! Mike Hugh DiMauro May 24th, 2008, 04:51 PM I apologize for this original post's vulgarity. The chosen movie scene was in bad taste and if it offended anybody's sensibilities I sincerely apologize. That won't happen again. Now for a "G" rated quote: “Mr. Becket I’m glad you’re here! I’ve got the real scoop! I’ve got the pictures and everything!” “I’ve been trying to get the story from Walter Cronkite here but he just won’t give.” “What’s this all about?” “I don’t know, he’s so keyed up!” “Will somebody listen to me?” “Alright Luther now just calm down!” “Calm?! Calm?! Do murder and calm go together? Calm and murder? Murder?” Mathieu Ghekiere May 24th, 2008, 07:24 PM Catch me if you can? Hugh DiMauro May 25th, 2008, 03:11 AM By the way Mathieu, that was incorrect! Josh Chesarek May 25th, 2008, 05:57 AM Broadcast News? Really just a guess as I have seen that movie only once a long time ago. Hugh DiMauro May 25th, 2008, 01:16 PM No, I am sorry Josh. Not Broadcast News. Lorinda Norton May 25th, 2008, 08:14 PM My pal Hugh and I have laughed about this goofy but great movie in the past so I wanted to lay out and give someone else a crack at it. But, since no one has come around in a while and I have another quote handy, the film is "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" with the one and only Don Knotts. Thanks for the kinder, gentler quote, Hugh. It was great. :) OK, here's from one I just revisited a couple nights ago. It's so easy that I'm hoping for not only the name of the movie, but the response to the question! “Your Majesty, stop me if I’m wrong but…wasn’t your mole…on the other side?” Hugh DiMauro May 25th, 2008, 09:13 PM Ta Da! That's correct! One of four from the franchise when Don Knotts was under contract to Universal Studios in the 1960s. The Ghost and Mr. Chicken just happened to be inspired from a certain episode of the Andy Griffith Show. Thanks, Lorinda! Josh Chesarek May 26th, 2008, 06:30 AM My pal Hugh and I have laughed about this goofy but great movie in the past so I wanted to lay out and give someone else a crack at it. Its time to blow..... Not blow.... BLOW! Robin Hood Men in Tights! Mel Brooks Returns to the Quote game!
