Paul Tauger January 26th, 2008, 06:55 AM THE FLY. Watched it two days ago as part of my David Cronenberg marathon. That's it! Your turn. John Hewat January 26th, 2008, 08:03 AM "I should have sold you when I had the chance." Sean Skube January 28th, 2008, 02:32 PM Bicentennial Man? John Hewat January 29th, 2008, 03:54 AM Nope. Way off. Josh Chesarek January 30th, 2008, 09:48 PM Is it time to pick a new quote? I had to resort to google to find this one... which doesnt mean a whole lot.... ;-) John Hewat January 31st, 2008, 04:10 AM I'll give a hint. Tom Selleck says it to Bess Armstrong. And they fly a lot. Kelly Goden January 31st, 2008, 09:44 PM High Road to China John Hewat January 31st, 2008, 11:03 PM High Road to China Well done! A brilliant, underseen film. Your turn. Kelly Goden January 31st, 2008, 11:29 PM I remember it. Sort of an Indiana Jones inspired thing wasnt it(funny since Selleck was offered the IJ part). The first line is: "...I told you everything!" "I know Rick. I know you did. But let's pretend you didnt!" Sean Skube February 1st, 2008, 10:34 AM WEEEIIIIRD!!!! I was passing over a manhole the yesterday and I suddenly thought of that same scene. Darkman!!! Kelly Goden February 1st, 2008, 12:43 PM Yep that's it. If no one got it I would have used my favorite line from it next: "let's consider my points one by one.....one, I try not to let my temper get the best of me. Two, i dont always succeed. Three, I've got 7 more points." :) Sean Skube February 1st, 2008, 12:58 PM That's the Raimi I wish had been on set when he made Spidey 3. Badassssss! Not some silly sobfest. ok, hmm. gotta come up with a good one. This one's hard to find one that isn't completely inappropriate for the message board. :) "Hey Kylie, why don't you tell Ms. Grant that story 'bout how I saved you from that deer?" "Oh yeah. Bill saved me from a deer." "Oh yeah?" Sean Skube February 6th, 2008, 12:32 PM should I put another quote up, or give this one more time? Paul Tauger February 6th, 2008, 12:44 PM Well, if you're going to put it like that: ;) Slither Sean Skube February 6th, 2008, 01:00 PM Bingo mazingo! I would have loved to quote the mayor but, well, none of his would fit in with the board's language policies. :) you're turn. Paul Tauger February 6th, 2008, 01:15 PM Okay, this may or may not be a challenge. I'll bet, though, that it's the longest quote in the game: Character 1: I must say that if I had the grievous misfortune to be a citizen of this benighted country, I should be the most hesitant of offering any criticism whatever of any other. Character 2: Wait a minute, are you knocking this country? Are you saying something against America? Character 1: Against it? I should be positively astounded to hear anything that could be said FOR it. Why the whole bloody place is the most unspeakable matriarchy in the whole history of civilization! Look at yourself! The way your wife and her strumpet of a mother push you through the hoop! As far as I can see, American men have been totally emasculated- they're like slaves! They die like flies from coronary thrombosis while their women sit under hairdryers eating chocolates & arranging for every 2nd Tuesday to be some sort of Mother's Day! And this infantile preoccupation with bosoms. In all time in this Godforsaken country, the one thing that has appalled me most of all is this preposterous preoccupation with bosoms. Don't you realize they have become the dominant theme in American culture: in literature, advertising and all fields of entertainment and everything. I'll wager you anything you like that if American women stopped wearing brassieres, your whole national economy would collapse overnight. Sean Skube February 6th, 2008, 01:19 PM Oh man, this is horrible, cause I know I've seen this. And I feel like it wasn't that long ago that I did. I'm resisting the urge to look it up. Paul Tauger February 7th, 2008, 01:07 PM Time for another clue: "I wish we knew what they were going to do to us. But no matter what happens to us, what happens to you I hope will be worse." Dave Robinson February 8th, 2008, 06:52 AM It's a mad mad world! Badda bing badda boom! My go? Character #1 : "He's a maniac!" Character #2 : "He's an artist!!!" Sean Skube February 11th, 2008, 03:33 PM If Lucy Fell? Mark Bournes February 12th, 2008, 08:31 AM From one of the greatest band's of all time! Pink Floyd, "The Wall" Dave Robinson February 12th, 2008, 04:11 PM From one of the greatest band's of all time! Pink Floyd, "The Wall" I didn't realise it was so easy, you Sir are correct. Both times, right quote and yes Pink Floyd are (one of?) the greatest band(s?) of all time. Sean Skube February 13th, 2008, 11:19 AM your go Mark. Mark Bournes February 15th, 2008, 08:38 AM " This dead man won't die! " Jonathan Jones February 17th, 2008, 11:11 AM " This dead man won't die! " I can't think of the name yet, and its just a shot in the dark, but I'm thinking it was that cop/buddy quasi horror/comedy/action flick with Joe Piscopo and Treat Williams. The name of the film will come to me later, but when I think of it, I'm guessing that one. -Jon Sean Skube February 17th, 2008, 12:07 PM Jonathan, the movie you're thinking of is Dead Heat. Classic cheeseball movie. Mark Bournes February 19th, 2008, 01:26 PM Not even close, hint time, I'm sticking with the "music" theme, a made for tv movie. Good Luck Jonathan Jones February 19th, 2008, 01:38 PM a made for tv movie. Good Luck ahhh, that counts me out...I very rarely watch tv. -Jon Jonathan Jones February 19th, 2008, 01:39 PM Jonathan, the movie you're thinking of is Dead Heat. Classic cheeseball movie. Thanks Sean, I could picture the old VHS box cover, but I just couldn't think of the name. Bummer that the guess was wrong after all though. -Jo Mark Bournes February 20th, 2008, 09:46 AM OK here's another hint...sticking with the 70's rock band movies. Jonathan Jones February 20th, 2008, 10:05 AM OK here's another hint...sticking with the 70's rock band movies. Kiss meets the Phantom of the Park Mark Bournes February 20th, 2008, 10:59 AM finally... probably one of the worst rock band movies ever made. Sean Skube February 26th, 2008, 04:12 PM that makes it your turn Jonathan Jonathan Jones February 28th, 2008, 06:00 PM finally... Yeah, that was a tough one cuz I hadn't seen that probably since I was in jr. high. I only guessed it due to your last clue. Generally, made-for-tv movies are of limited appeal in quote rounds due to their generally limited market play. They often impose to many restrictions on an audience who may have potential exposure to that movie. In either case, Kiss meets the Phantom of the Park was probably never destined for any cinema hall of fame - let alone any potential theatrical playability.....but it was awesome for you to bring it up. I haven't thought of it in YEARS but I will always remember with great laughter Gene's role as "the Demon" as he would slink around hunched over taking careful Elmer Fudd footsteps in his fangboots, sticking his tongue in and out like a lizard. I even seem to recall one sequence of shots that showed his character as some type of gigantic glamrock monster towering over the park...but maybe that was my mixing up the movie over many years. I can't even remember the plot. Awesome. Now I want to see it again. -Jon Jonathan Jones February 28th, 2008, 06:04 PM that makes it your turn Jonathan I've been battling a flu the last several days and am now trying to muster the capacity of thought. I'll have a quote in a short while. -J. Jonathan Jones February 29th, 2008, 01:25 PM Okay, so in trying to come up with a good quote while online, I was following some link articles this morning and happened upon a clip from a movie I saw several years ago. One of the campiest of all time. This one might be pretty easy to guess: Quote is as follows: "Okay. Clowns. Cotton Candy. Flying Popcorn. Go ahead. Let 'em make fools out of the police department." go. -J. Kelly Goden February 29th, 2008, 03:54 PM Killer Klowns From Outer Space? Jonathan Jones February 29th, 2008, 04:02 PM Killer Klowns From Outer Space? Yep, I didn't think that one was going to take very long. Good job. Your turn. -Jon Kelly Goden February 29th, 2008, 04:30 PM "Oh they think I'm a dummy but I aint. I'm gonna get my trucker's license one day." Kelly Goden March 2nd, 2008, 12:52 AM No guesses? "What do you think Earl?" "What i think is we've been lied to. He's no Goddamn donut king." Kelly Goden March 3rd, 2008, 02:00 PM "About a minute ago Billy here called in an accident on the I-40 connector....See? There he goes. Its going to take about 20 minutes for that cracker to get out to the connector and another ten minutes to see there's no accident and another 20 minutes to get back in. That's 50 minutes. That's exactly how much time you have to get me my money." Kelly Goden March 4th, 2008, 10:55 PM And another(I am running out of them) (sorry for the f--- its hard to think of another line that might give a hint: "My wife is locked up in a hole in your f--- barn, and if you dont give me the key, I'm going to blow your f--- head off!" Sean Skube March 6th, 2008, 02:22 PM I wish I'd been here sooner. I would have had it at Donut King! It's Breakdown, starring the one and only Snake Pliskin. :) Jonathan Jones March 6th, 2008, 05:05 PM Oh MAN !!!! I knew I'd seen the movie from which those quotes were taken, but I've been thinking about it for a while and ......nuthin'. Glad ya guessed it - it befuddled me. -Jon Mike Teutsch March 6th, 2008, 05:25 PM Maybe "Breakdown" from 1997 with Kurt Russell? Mike Kelly Goden March 6th, 2008, 08:46 PM Finally and right on the first guess!!! I was going crazy wondering why no one was even guessing. :) Mike Teutsch March 7th, 2008, 07:12 AM Great! I'll give you an easy one. Question: "Are you classified as human?" Answer: "No, I'm a meat popsicle." Mike Kelly Goden March 7th, 2008, 12:29 PM It sounds familiar but I cant even guess. BTW I think Sean was the first to get it but if he doesnt mind I dont. :) Mike Teutsch March 7th, 2008, 12:52 PM Missed that, you're right!
