That shows how long the camera has been switched on, it doesn't take into account whether or not it was recording, just on time...

Thanks Hiram, I didn't know but it did look like total "ON" hours to me.
I would like to know how to bring up total recorded hrs.

Thank you again.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think there is any timer for total recording time...

As there is no wear and tear on the EX camera there is little point in knowing how may hours have been spent recording. The wear and tear will be on the LCD screen display and the how many times you operate switches, turn the lens etc.

I can see the point of knowing how many hours have been used for recording with a tape based camera, as this would be useful information for how much life is left in the recording/playback head.

OK Vincent, thanks, that makes sense.

Thank you.

Other than the general sense of how "well used" the camera might be. Presumably, a used camera with 40 hours will have been subjected to less wear and potential abuse than one with 1,000 hours on it.

But yes, there seems to be much less agonizing to do over the hour meter, compared to the old video heads & drums cameras.
