Hi guys, seem to have lost the ability to change any mainconcept MPeg2 settings using the custom key, The button depresses but does nothing..?????

I have all the standard templates there to use, but just can't custom any of them..??

Any thoughts.?

I have re-installed vegas but this hasn't fixed the problem..

Thanks Mike

Check out this possibility from my FAQ (http://www.jetdv.com/vegas/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6)

Look in your registry, and make sure it only has these entries, and nothing else.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software\MC MPEG Plug-In\1.0\License]
"CurrentKey"="XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX"
"InstFlags"=dword:00000010

(you shoud see letters and digits instead of the Xs here...)

If it is not "CurrentKey" or "InstFlags", get rid of it.

Cheers edward, didn't quite work but I deleted the whole MC Plugin registry folder, then once i tried to use the mainconcept again, it asked me for my serial and activation code, and all is well now............

Thanks for the direction.

Hey I had the same problem, How do i look in my registry?

Start - Run - Regedit

NOTE: If you don't know what you're doing, it *IS* possible to mess things up by playing in the registry. Care is recommended (or find someone who knows what they're doing and let THEM do it).

well Id like to try what Mike did by deleting the serial code part then re entering. Mike would you like to tell me how you did this exactly so I don't screw any thing up? Thanks

Hi kevin, Follow the path that edward wrote in regedit, if you look on the left hand column and open each folder in order until you reach the license/1.0 folder and delete this.

once you open vegas and use mpeg again it will ask you to input serial and away you go....

I had absolutely the same problem. The ONLY thing that helped me is installing Vegas Movie Studio. Now Vegas 6 doesn't have any problem with mpeg custom key!!!
