Hi Dan
So is it better practice to pull the CF card out of the reader, after down loading, rather than drag to trash/eject due to the mac OS wanting to write files to the card.
Interestingly on another forum some one posted that connecting P2 cards to a mac without pulling the write protect tap can cause permanent corruption to footage.. !!!! (although I would think its pretty automatic to pull the tap..) but a bit scary non the less..

Dear Robin,
The Mac writes files to the CompactFlash card when one goes through the operating system to reject the card.
If you are using a USB card reader, just pull out the reader.
If you are using a Firewire reader, such as a Firewire 800 reader, just pull out the Firewire cable.
Alternatively, you can just pull out the card.
Yes, you will get an error message, no harm will be done, just click ok.

Dear Robin,
First, the Mac writes files to the card when it goes through the regular Eject process, thus interferring with the normal operation of the card in the nanoFlash.
Second, occassionally, the Mac corrupts the directory structure on a card.

Hi Dan
So could my cards have possibly been damaged by having used the eject function before.? I have 3X 64 GB delkin cards? Is there a possibility for corruption of data later on..?
Formatting in the nano doesnt clear these files..?
Thanks

Dear Robin,
I am assuming that you are following proper procedures by Formatting the cards in the nanoFlash prior to using them.
If so, then you should have no problem with your cards. No damage has been done to your cards.
