Have any HC1 users experimented with the tele-macro feature yet?
I was very excited when I read some pundit speculating about this feature as being a at-long-last solution to the video depth-of-field problem.
I'm going to have this cam in a few days now, and would be excited even if the tele-macro feature were not part of the deal, but the thought of a shallow depth of field without the "crank open the aperture and haul out the lights" routine is what has me most excited of all.
My second question is--having Googled "tele-macro" extensively--if this technology has been around for a while (and so far as I can tell, it has), why haven't videographers cobbled some aftermarket tele-macro solution prior to the HC1? If they have, it certainly doesn't seem to be in wide use.
