No. The HDMI out of the current HDSLR's are crippled - they do not put out a full raster 1080 X 1920.

On the 7D Canon place a white square (or red) on the screen if you record via HDMI - incredible heh?

This can be disabled in the t2i's with magic lantern. And what about recording the stream when its not in record mode (ie, liveview)?

I'm curious about this too - even if the white square could be removed, is the 7D actually putting out a full 1080p 16x9 signal? I was under the impression it was still cropped center frame.
