Anyone using a shoulder strap for their NX5U? Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Kevin

Shoulder straps are a pain in the neck (pun intended). I jury rigged a Portabrace strap to give me the extra padding where it counts. I have since moved to a harness instead of strap. This puts the weight on your shoulders instead of neck. Stills photogs have known this for years. YMMV

I don't use any straps for my NX5, i've tried it once but the strap is uncomfortable and useless specially when you use a glidecam..:)

I carry the NX5U and a digital SLR at the same time. Sometimes I need to rapidly switch from shooting the NX5U to the SLR. I would rather sling it from my shoulder than sitting it on the ground or the tripod.

Looking for an effective way to rapidly switch between cameras when shooting action shots.

is your answer. Don't get one with the quick-release clips as these rattle and add unwanted noise to your soundtrack.

They're cheap, too.

Thanks Adam.

Sounds like what I am looking for. I ordered a couple from B&H. I'll let you know how they work out.

Kevin

[ I just realized that this isn't the solution for your post, I should read closer next time, I will repost this under "shoulder mount"...so this can be deleted :)]

I use this shoulder mount that I picked up on ebay a year ago for $25 (The ikan version). It must have gained popularity cuz it is now on B&H for $90. There is a "Poloroid" version at B&H for $39 or ebay $35 (looks to be the exact same thing). Yes it's plastic but it's good quality plastic, it's light weight and comfortable. I use it for the NX5U and it's perfect for on-the-move shoulder shots. I do not use the straps at all, although I'll admit it is more stable with the straps, they are just uncomfortable and quite dorky looking. See the links below and an action shot of me using it with the NX5U.
