What are the minimum requirements for NLE systems for the Canon XF codec? Specifically FCP and Adobe Premiere systems.
For example, does FCP 5 work with the codec?

Hi Glen,
You may be interested in checking out this series of pages about the XF codec and NLE systems that support it:
Canon Professional Network - Software compatibility options for the XF305 and XF300 camcorders (http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/education/technical/compatibility_options_XF305_XF300.do)
Just be sure to use the pages "1, 2, 3, 4" to navigate - it's a little confusing. :s

Hi Rob,
Well, to successfully edit the XF codec, it looks like you're gonna need at least:
FCP 6.0.3.
Premiere CS5.
AVID 4.0.5.
NewsCutter 8.0.5.
Edius, 5.5.

Glen,
I'm editing Canon XF files with Sony Vegas Pro 10 with no problems.
I guess Vegas is just seeing them as XDCam files...

Thanks, Robin! We can add that to the list of NLEs.
I'm taking delivery of an XF305 this week, so I'm checking to see what's compatible with the new cam. I'm supposed to edit a commercial with an editor with FCP 5, so I don't think that's going to work out.
