View Full Version : Installing Firmware
Dan Keaton January 27th, 2011, 12:53 PM Dear Friends,
When installing firmware on the nanoFlash or Flash XDR, immediately after the update process is complete, please go to:
System|Restore Defaults
Then press the Right Arrow
Then press OK.
Then re-enter your setup for the nanoFlash or Flash XDR.
This step is important to ensure proper operation of the unit.
Background. We store your setup and other information in Non-Volatile RAM.
With certain releases, the bit assignments may vary. This process clears the Non-Volatile RAM to ensure proper operation.
Rob Dommermuth January 27th, 2011, 05:34 PM Hi Dan,
The last time I updated I didn't do the above steps, should go back and do them now ?
Ronald Jackson January 28th, 2011, 12:30 AM Is 1.6.245 ready to roll Dan? The definitive article so to speak?
Ron
Ronan Fournier January 28th, 2011, 05:08 AM The last firmware for the NanoFlash is now the 1.6.248. It seems very solid.
Dan Keaton January 28th, 2011, 05:35 AM Dear Friends,
1.6.248 is a Production Level release, not a Public Beta.
We have learned that our "Delete Last Take" function is not working in this release, however.
Ronald Jackson January 28th, 2011, 08:56 AM So wait until it goes public? Presumably an e-mail from C.D.
Ron
Dan Keaton January 28th, 2011, 09:11 AM Dear Ronald,
If you registered your nanoFlash with us, then you should have received an email announcing 1.6.248.
1.6.248 has been elevated from Public Beta to Full Production Level Status..
Please feel free to use 1.6.248.
Ron Little January 28th, 2011, 11:27 AM I did not get an email. Does that imply my Nano is not registered?
Dan Keaton January 28th, 2011, 11:31 AM Dear Ron,
You can go to our website and register your nanoFlash.
That should put you on the email list.
Product Registration | Convergent Design (http://www.convergent-design.com/Products/ProductRegistration/tabid/1675/Default.aspx)
Ron Little January 28th, 2011, 12:10 PM I am currently running 1.6.29 should I jump straight to 1.6.248 ?
Ronan Fournier January 28th, 2011, 12:32 PM Yes, I've did it with no problem. No need to going through 1.6.245.
The update process erase the previous firmware, so you can install directly the most recent one.
Ronan Fournier January 28th, 2011, 12:38 PM Post in double
Ron Little January 28th, 2011, 12:38 PM Ok, I know I saw the upgrade steps somewhere. Can someone point me to them?
Dan Keaton January 28th, 2011, 12:52 PM Dear Ron,
I will post detailed instructions shortly.
Dan Keaton January 28th, 2011, 01:17 PM Dear Ron,

I will instal tomorrow,
Thanks,
