View Full Version : Using DVX 24pa with Premiere Pro 1.5?

Searching through old posts on this forum, it seems like DVX users cannot use Premiere to edit their 24p or 24pa footage. And in cases where they do use it, the results are not satisfactory.

I have not seen any recent posts, however, and I am wondering if the limitations of Premiere have changed with the new release. It seems to support the DVX, as it has it as a preset in the Project window.

I am also confused about what are the limitations of using Premiere for DVX footage. I am going to be shooting in either 24p, or 24pa. What problems will I encounter if I do use Premiere. I seem to be able to capture and edit just fine (Although I have not completed anything; I've just bought my camera, and have not actually shot a project as of yet).

I am also going to be editing all of my work myself, and would like to be able to use my current computer setup with the last version of Premiere Pro.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Matt,

Older versions of Premiere do not support 24p or 24pA, but version numbers of Premiere Pro from 1.5 do (current version is 1.5.1). There are a couple of issues, including the strobing problem discussed here:

Happy editing!

some find its pulldown service far from satisfactory...

Also i havent tried this, so can somene slarify?
Does the RTX100 support progressive scan, or must you stick with an interlaced project and just import your footage as is?? It will LOOK like 24/25p but i dont know if it supports the pulldown for true frame output..

any ideas? or maybe this should be asked in the premiere area...

Excellent. It's a huge relief that I can still use my current software with the DVX.
