I've noticed for some reason when I'm color grading with MB looks my footage looks a little grainy. I've noticed some of the same filters used on this board with great results (meaning no grainy look). Any thoughts on how to smooth it out? I rarely shoot anything about 400ISO on my 550D.
I'm also using a custom setting based on a post on this board to help get the most dynamic range out of my camera.

You haven't mentioned what custom setting you are using. I had been using the super flat setting that has been around for about a year and a half. About 6 months back, some users started recommending backing off that. The recommendation came to using neutral setting, and then backing off contrast, sharpness and saturation a bit. I have found another one called Digital Cinema, that seems to be better than superflat.
You do have to remember in post to add sharpness and saturation as needed with these flat settings, but the point is, you are supposed to have more detail at both ends to work with, as you adjust .

Hey Chris..
Thanks for the reply. one thing I was forgetting to do was to add in the sharpness and saturation. I don't think thats causing a grainy picture. But it will make for a better image.
